AC/DC: BON SCOTT Sculptors Disappointed Over Internet Leaks

According to a posting on the AC/DC fan site Crabsody In Blue, the sculptors of a proposed carved stone plinth in honor of late AC/DC frontman Bon Scott are disappointed that friends of the organizers of the project have released pictures of the plaque before the official unveiling in Kirriemuir. They feel the unveiling should be somewhat quiet and dignified and more respectful. However, in the last few days pictures of the plaque have been released over the Internet and the sculptors just feel that details of the tribute plaque and the unveiling event should have been announced in a more dignified manner. According to the sculptors, the memorial plaque should honour Bon Scott in his hometown of Kirriemuir and respectfully honour his memory and at the same time be done in a respectful and dignified manner which pays its respects to Bon and also the Scott family.

Bon Scott died on February 19, 1980 in London, England. He choked to death on his own vomit while sleeping in a friend's car. According to the AC/DC FAQ web site, he and the friend, a musician named Alisdair Kinnear, had been drinking the evening of the 19th and Bon apparently fell asleep during the ride home. Kinnear could not wake Bon, so he left him in the car to sleep. Kinnear awoke early in the evening on the 20th, checked on Bon, and found him unconscious in the car. Bon could not be revived, and was pronounced dead.
